This month we’re delighted to announce the launch of the Commhoist Graduate Scheme.

The team have been working hard in the background to craft a scheme that offers graduates valuable experience and a clear pathway into the industry. So, we’re very excited to welcome our first graduate Lewis Billows, as he starts his graduate journey this month. Over the next three years Lewis will follow a programme of work across all departments within the company, shadowing and experiencing what it’s like and the work that each department completes.

Lewis will follow a carefully crafted three-year programme of work, which will offer him experience of all the functions undertaken within the business. This includes internal functions from surveys and quotations to business development. Lewis will also spend time with our field teams and our other group company, Redtrail. There will also be an extensive programme of formal training provided, ensuring Lewis has all the necessary skills to thrive at Commhoist and within the industry.

Commhoist Managing Director, Wayne Brierley is delighted that the company have launched a graduate scheme. Here’s what he had to say about Lewis joining team Commhoist. “A graduate scheme is something we’ve been working towards over the last year, and I’m over the moon that we’ve launched and Lewis has started with the team. We really want to help local graduates get an insight into the work we do, whilst also providing a pathway to a career they’ll feel skilled to undertake. Welcome to the team Lewis!”

Learn more about Lewis

Today we want to take this opportunity to introduce you to Lewis. Find out what he hopes to gain from the graduate scheme and a little more about what he likes to get up to in his spare time.

Growing up within a mile of Commhoist HQ Lewis knows the local area, and what Commhoist do. Having supported Commhoist previously in the Surveys and Finance departments, Lewis knows the business well and so jumped at the chance to join the business as part of the Graduate Scheme. Lewis recently graduated with a History degree from Edge Hill University and is now looking forward to furthering his skills in the world of work.

In his spare time Lewis can be found restoring old cars and regularly attending motoring shows. If he’s not knee deep in motoring oil and manuals Lewis is busy walking his two Jack Russell’s called Jack and Russell. He also has a musical edge playing both guitar and piano in a local band, with Oasis being his favourite band and Purple Rain by Prince his favourite song.

Lewis is excited for the opportunity and says he relishes that the work is constantly changing – keeping the role fresh and always challenging Lewis within the role.

Keep your eyes on our ‘Our Insights’ for more updates from Lewis throughout his graduate scheme.
